How to use Saponificio Varesino COSMO Special Edition Shaving Soap
Like with every Saponificio Varesino shaving soap, they are triple milled creating a highly concentrated soap with a relatively hard surface. The COSMO is no different.
Their formulations contain active ingredients that, to give their best, need to solubilize and melt. To have the best shave follow these steps:
- Cover the soap surface with a thin layer of warm water for few minutes.
- Wet your shaving brush either by soaking it in a bowl for a few minutes or dripping it into the water. The choice depends on a type of bristles used in your shaving brush. Badger, boar and horse hairs all need to soak in warm water.
- Shake off the excess water and pour the layer of water that bloomed the soap onto the knot.
- Load the brush with soap for about 20-30 seconds and face/bowl lather.
The time it takes to make a lather and quality of it depends on many small things. Your technique, shaving brush and even the hardness of the water in your region so test and observe.
