Le Père Lucien – Story of Artisan Soap Maker

Regardless of whether you are a teenager or in your 50s, good quality shaving soap is a staple in any home. You use it to prepare your face for shaving on a regular basis. However, many people aren’t aware of the different types of handmade soaps out there, let alone all of the ingredients that go into making the products. With so many different products on the market already, Le Père Lucien or Father Lucien wanted to provide consumers with products that were gentle enough for everyday use and affordable for just about everyone.

The Le Père Lucien Family

The Lelegard family founded the French traditional soap factory. This mother and son duo both played an integral role in the creation and production of the soap. To help preserve the natural vegetable glycerin and keep the virtues intact of the plant and essential oils, a special process is used. No dyes or preservatives are ever used to create Le Père Lucien products. All of the product ingredients are carefully chosen for their virtues and qualities. The raw materials are from responsible and local agriculture. Any packaging used is what is necessary to guarantee the products are preserved and dispatched in the best condition possible.

Cyril, their chemist engineer and cosmetician, is the one responsible for the development and testing of the different shaving soaps and brand care. With the standards constantly changing, Cyril works hard to make sure that all of the products are continuously adapting to the French and European standards for the industry. This is one job that requires a lot of time and dedication to make sure that nothing is left to chance and the brand remains intact.

His passion for traditional shaving cream stemmed from his grandfather, Lucien. That led him to want to create his unique products that he could use on a regular basis. He uses modern processes that are scientifically validated to create some of the most amazing and ingenious soaps around for customers to enjoy for quite some time.

The Le Père Lucien Soaps

The handmade soaps Cyril creates are creamy, opaque and foamy to pave the way for your shaving blade. All of the barber soaps combine potash, vegetable oil and vegetable glycerin without any bleach additives or preservatives. Your skin will feel moisturized and nourished with every soap you use. You don’t have to worry about any skin irritation or discomfort because all of the natural products are made with the finest ingredients around.

Gisèle is the brains behind the soaps. She travels between the countries and learns of the different scents and virtues out there. This allows her to help design soaps that are overflowing with all of the virtues customers want.

Gisèle enriches the composition of the soaps and makes them into something no one has ever experienced in the past. She assists in selecting the various essential oils to give the soaps virtues. The essential oils also help give the soaps the lubrication needed to slide easily over your skin and create a nice lather. The oils are often associated with flower petals, sandalwood powder or clay.

The team took ample time to achieve the perfect formula. The formula combines coconut, olive, rapeseed, sunflower and palm oils. Everything comes together to deliver ideal foaming, conditioning, and cleansing. All soaps are greased to 6% to resemble the natural fat in your skin.

Natacha Mamdy is the doctor of pharmacy. She monitors all of the products to make sure they are not only safe to use but also safe to produce. Her goal is to make sure no one gets injured in the creation of the products, and people of all ages can enjoy using them without having to worry about whether they are safe to use or not.

We at Blake’n Blade have used Le Père Lucien soaps over the extended period. And their soaps are top performers. What we like the most is their subtle and from-the-nature scent palette. You don’t want to smell like rosebush for a whole day, or do you 🙂
